Your WordPress site is slow, hard to find on Google, or missing a feature.

WordPress and SEO consulting

WordPress works well for a huge range of projects, as long as you treat it as software: a few carefully chosen plugins, tidy code and regular updates.

On the same site I also work on SEO, because performance, structure and content matter for both. I start from the searches that bring customers and work first where the gain is largest.

How I approach it

The mistake I see most often with SEO on WordPress is relying on a plugin without understanding what it does or how to use it. The plugin gets installed, shows a green light, and the job is assumed to be done.

An SEO plugin helps you manage titles, descriptions and sitemaps. Which searches to target, and the content that answers them, still have to be decided and written, and that's where I start. Then I set up the plugin to do its part.

When it helps

  • The site is slow and has piled up dozens of plugins nobody remembers the reason for.
  • You sell online, but on Google people find your competitors first.
  • You need a feature no plugin does well, or one that would take five plugins together.
  • You need to connect WordPress or WooCommerce to business software, a CRM or an external service.

What's included

  • An SEO review of the site: structure, content, performance and rankings for the searches that bring customers.
  • Technical and content SEO work, in order of how much it can return.
  • A review of installed plugins, to decide what to keep, replace or remove.
  • Performance, security and update audits.
  • Custom plugins built to WordPress standards, including commercial ones.
  • API integrations with business software, payment services and external platforms.

An example

What you get

  • A report on the state of the site, SEO included, with priorities.
  • Custom plugins with code and documentation.
  • An updated, verified site, with instructions for whoever runs it.

FAQ

Do you work on sites built by others?

Yes, that's the most common case. I first review what's there, then every change goes through a copy of the site before it goes live.

Isn't a custom plugin harder to maintain?

If it's well written it's easier. A plugin that does one documented thing is simpler to keep updated than five generic plugins that overlap.

How soon do SEO results show?

It usually takes a few months, because Google has to re-read and re-assess the pages.
